Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 143rd & Blackbob, Olathe, KS. Funeral and burial services will be in Centralia, MO, at Fenton Funeral Chapel, 573-682-3703. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, 3625 SW 29th, Topeka. KS 66614, or to the Jami Enlow Memorial Scholarship Fund, Centralia, MO. Alvin was born August 18,1939, in Hugoton, KS, the son of Orville and Fern Mae Gracey. He graduated from Hugoton High School and attended Fort Hays State University. He married Phyllis Jeannette Lowrv on June 12,1960, in Hugoton, KS. Following in his father's footsteps, he worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Gas Company for 39 years. He was superintendent of the Centralia, MO, area and also was an environmental specialist for the Louisburg, KS, area. He retired in January of 1997. Alvin was a member of the Centralia United Methodist Church and also led the Town and Country Adult Sunday School Class. After retirement, he was actively involved in the Bedford Downs Home Association in Overland Park where he had lived the last 11 years, and also recently managed Home Association Pools. He was also a volunteer crossing guard for Pleasant Ridge Elementary School and served on several appointed Olathe School District Committees. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wIfe, Phyllis J. Gracey, of the home, his children, Dawn RaNaye Crocker and husband, Brian, of Centralia, MO, Cam Lynette Sweaza, of Alabaster, AL, Shawn Lyle Gracey, of Los Angeles, CA, and Kim LaDeanne Gracey, of Los Angeles, CA, his sisters, Betty Heger, of Flagler, CO, and Orvileta West, of Garden City, KS, grandchildren, Tucker Dean Bramon, Jake Edward Wilkerson, Zachery Trenton Sweaza, and Rustin D.F.
